Workshop

  • WHO GOARN Tier 1.5 Training Workshop

    Participants

    WHO staff 3 persons and 50 health care professionals

    Results

    This GOARN workshop was held for the first time in 10 years in Japan. Through the workshop, we developed the human resources and networking of international outbreak response.

Outbreak investigation

  • Site visit of health care facility and development of the medium-long national plan for infection prevention and control, Papua New Guinea

    16 -27 September, 2019

    Results

    We identified the challenging of infection prevention and control in health care facility in Papua New Guinea, and reported to the Elias Kapavore, Minister, Ministry of Health of the country. After discussing the improvement of infection prevention and control in the country, we decided a specific solution and reported a final draft of a national action plan for mid- to long-term infection prevention and control.

  • Outbreak of measles and blood stream infection due to antimicrobial resistance, Independent State of Samoa

    Results

    At the time of the emergency declaration of the outbreak of measles in infants in Independent State of Samoa, we provided advice on infection prevention and control of antimicrobial resistance after measles outbreak, as an infectious disease expert. We advised the Independent State of Samoa on improving hand hygiene and development of an infection prevention and control system, and shared the challenging about infection prevention and control with the Ministry of Health, Independent State of Samoa through environmental rounds

WHO Joint External Evaluation (JEE)

    Results

    We participated the WHO JEE mission in Malaysia as a WHO international member. After discussing with Ministry of Health, Malaysia, we reported the strengthen and challenging of each filed. We had a role of lead for antimicrobial resistance and co-lead for surveillance.

  • 3rd Antibacterial pipeline advisory group meeting (Geneva, Switzerland)

    Results

    We gave a lecture of Overview of the antibacterial R&D landscape in Japan, and discussed with international experts.
