Training
- WHO GOARN Tier 1.5 Training Workshop
October 29-October 30, 2020
In collaboration with WHO Headquarters, WHO Western Pacific Region Office (WPRO) and GOARN (Global Outbreak Alert Response Network), and with the support of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare in Japan, the first online GOARN Training Workshop Tier 1.5 specializing in Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) was held. 32 health professionals participated in the workshop.

Dr. Ishikane provided training on COVID-19 treatment guidelines and Infection Prevention and Control to the Mongolian Center for Infectious Diseases.

- COVID-19 Outbreak Response in Papua New Guinea
Mid-September - End of November 2020
Supported Dr. Kobayashi from Japanese Red Cross Wakayama Medical Center, who worked as a WHO short-term expert in Papua New Guinea in the clinical area of the COVID-19 Response Team.
Dr. Kobayashi was a participant in GOARN (Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network) training held in Japan in 2019 as part of a collaboration between DCC and relevant domestic organizations, and through his registration on GOARN roster, he made his way to WPRO missions.

Participated in the WHOCC Forum hosted by WPRO to discuss COVID-19 response. In addition, we reported on the efforts of the WHO Collaborating Center in Japan to address COVID-19 in a scientific paper.
